Summer and Winter School Programmes

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Studies programmes have the opportunity to undertake a module at UCD Belfield Campus in Ireland during the annual UCD Summer School in August or the Winter School in January/February, depending on the intake enrolled.

Similarly, Master of Science (Management) students can attend the UCD Summer School in July and undertake a module at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Ireland.

*Only a limited number of places are available. Students will be responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation expenses.

I previously worked in the Event and Exhibition industry for three and a half years until COVID-19 hit, and I witnessed the toll it took on the sector. Consequently, I made the decision to further my studies, a plan that had been postponed for several years. In addition to my dream to work in a bank, I also recognise that the Finance industry is an essential and relatively stable field that promotes employee welfare. Hence, I chose to major in Business Studies, more specifically, in Finance.

My friend recommended University College Dublin (UCD), and I discovered that it met my requirements, such as the flexibility to complete my Degree programme quickly while working. After conducting some research, I was attracted to UCD’s well-structured programme and its internationally-recognised Business Bachelor’s Degree.

The Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) (Management) (Top-up) Degree programme has enabled me to develop proficient negotiation skills and tactics, and understand the business operations of different organisations. I was able to excel in my role as an Account Executive with the help of this Degree programme. Despite being a newcomer in my industry, I was able to garner admiration from numerous merchants due to my extensive knowledge.

Additionally, the lecturers at Kaplan were also friendly and inspiring. While some concepts and theory models were difficult to grasp, the lecturers made them easier for me to understand.

I would definitely recommend this UCD Degree programme at Kaplan as I was able to complete it and enter the workforce earlier. Since work experience plays a huge role in employability, having this head start is important. In fact, I was even able to attain a job right after I completed my studies.
